Today, we are going to teach you how to start your own free blog?

First of all, if you want to keep knowing more about blogging, subscribe to our newsletter in the beginning of the page, so we can send you updates about blogging.

So you have decided that you want to start blogging? That’s great. But you don’t know what to do now? Don’t worry, we will help!

If you do not want to go through the hassles of setting-up a blog but still want to write, mail us at uncuriously@gmail.com or message us on Facebook. We provide blog spaces for writers on our website.

Things you need to decide before starting a free blog:

  • Whether the blog is just for your hobby or are you serious about it and want to earn through it?
  • How much time can you spare everyday for your blog?
  • The topics you are going to blog about (which can range from an individual topic to a bunch of topics eg: shirts to men’s fashion).

So let’s talk about blogging for free now:

You have multiple options to start your free blog, but I would recommend you the following two:

  1. Blogger

Power Banks at 50% off here!

This is the easiest way to create a blog. You have to login to your Gmail/Google Account after going here. It is one of the best way to promote your content for free as this is a Google product and with a custom domain, you have better chances to get the Adsense approval for your blog if you are looking to earn through your blog. Also it has an easy-to-use interface and you wouldn’t take much time to get accustomed even if you are a newbie.

Though, it is marred by a few limitations:

  • Only 100 blogs per account allowed.
  • Uses up your Google Drive which has a limited free space of 15 GB.
  • Very less themes with very simple interfaces.
  • Individual pages limited to 1 MB (Hence, cannot post many pictures).

2. WordPress

There are two types of WordPress- WordPress.com and WordPress.org . The first one is used to create a ready-to-use blog and the other to create a self-hosted website like this one! Here I am going to talk about the first one. You can signup for WordPress.com here! The best thing about WordPress is customization. It has millions of themes for free to give a great look to your blog. It has more options than Blogger. If you are familiar with coding, you can use HTML and PHP to create your own posts. Before moving on to a full-fledged website, you should try your content on this one.

Also, almost 25% of the world has moved to WordPress.

Limitations of WordPress.com:

  • No options of plugins like wordpress.org .
  • You cannot have any earnings until you buy a custom domain.

You can also use websites like Wix, Joomla and Weebly to create your own blog!

  1. Right now it looks like Drupal is the top blogging platform out there right now. (from what I’ve read) Is that what you’re using on your blog?
